Cultural Proximity (CP) is one of 6 variables in the GemmWork GEMM Scorecard. It measures how closely a country's talent pool aligns with US business norms, communication styles, and working patterns.

Cultural Proximity is scored on 100 points across 4 equal dimensions:

Why CP Matters for Team Productivity

Low CP doesn't disqualify a market — India's ★★★☆☆ CP is offset by its ★★★★★ AI Workflows IQ and Cost Efficiency. But it does mean companies need to invest in async communication infrastructure, documentation standards, and overlapping meeting windows.

High CP markets (Philippines, Mexico) enable near-synchronous collaboration with US teams, which reduces management overhead significantly.
